I’m often asked if we have January Sales or if there is a “best time to buy” when it comes to double glazing. This often translates to is there a “cheapest time to buy”! Whilst prices can fluctuate throughout the year depending on prices of materials and demand, there is without a doubt a distinct advantage price wise at one particular time of year.
Am I too late for Christmas?
“Can I have it in time for Christmas?” is another question that we always hear every year. Usually homeowners leave it far too late to decide that they want new windows to show off to Santa. Or a brand new front composite door to greet visitors at over the festive period. Believe it or not the best time to enquire about windows for Christmas is actually from September to October. By November any decent company will already be fully booked for December, and you will struggle to find someone who can fit them for you!
However November to December is a very good time to think about replacing your windows and doors in January or February. Once the December order book is full, business owners thoughts turn to January. Many people will have spent up over Christmas and wouldn’t contemplate having work done on their homes, making this potentially the least busy time of year for home improvement and double glazing companies. This puts you, the potential client, in a very strong position if you are prepared to wait!
If you are looking for the best time of year to order your double glazing, or indeed any other home improvements, I would urge you to consider it now, if you are in a position to do so. Especially if you love a January Sales bargain – Just don’t leave it too late, as once the January and February order books are full it’s back to business as usual!
